QuickBooks Interface

To date the most popular choice for backend accounting within our user group has been Intuit's QuickBooks. The DentaLab/PC II interface to QuickBooks provides sales and accounts receivable figures from the lab operation. Here are some of the highlights:

• You can elect to transfer information on any schedule you wish…daily, weekly, monthly.
• You can elect to setup your categories by name or description. Codes and numbers are not needed.
• Most laboratories have elected to pass information based on one set of categories related to the dental laboratory, but you can choose to do this by customer accounts.
• QuickBooks follows the Windows standards, as does DentaLab/PC II, making it easy for users to learn and use both.
• In addition to the accounts receivable and sales applications related to DentaLab/PC II, QuickBooks provides accounts payable, purchase orders, inventory, payroll, general ledger, and financial statements.
• QuickBooks can be password protected.
• The latest versions of QuickBooks allow up to 20 concurrent licensed users on networked systems.

In the years from 1990 to 1998 we developed interfaces to 13 accounting systems for the earlier DentaLab/PC system.
